The City of Champaign Public Works Department is actively responding to service calls related to damaged city trees and the clearing of debris from city streets following the wind event on Tuesday, June 25.

In response to several inquiries, the department clarified that there will be no special pickup for private tree or storm debris. Residents are advised to utilize the Landscape Recycling Center, contact a local arborist, or arrange with their solid waste hauler for the collection of storm-related debris. The dates for fall yard waste collection will be announced at a later time. Additionally, a map of city-owned trees is available through an online link.

This update underscores the city's ongoing efforts to manage and mitigate the aftermath of severe weather events while providing clear guidance for residents regarding debris disposal options.
