The City of Champaign has announced temporary road closures on Market Street between University Avenue and Main Street, as well as Taylor Street between Walnut Street and Market Street. These closures are intended to facilitate weekend activities and will take place from 2:00 p.m. Friday to 8:00 a.m. Sunday, starting May 31 and ending October 20, 2024.
An exception to the closure schedule will occur on Friday, May 31, when the roads will close at 8:00 a.m. instead of the usual 2:00 p.m.
Despite the road closures, businesses within the affected areas will remain open according to their regular hours. On-street parking and city parking lots near the area will be available for public use.
