City of Gibson Pool Board met April 23
Here are the minutes provided by the board:
Recognize Visitors

Reports
● Gary Reiners motioned to approve the 02/20/2024 minutes with Ernie Pearson seconding the motion. All votes were in favor. Minutes approved.
Financial Report:
● The paint for the pool and the acid have been ordered.
Manager Report / Randy Ferguson:
● The new diving board will be installed this season.

Old Business
● Status on self-closing & latching gate for the baby pool.
○ No Action
● Status on finding solution for the concrete deterioration issue in the diving pool.
○ The areas around the diving boards needing sealed will be done as is done yearly.
● Discuss the need to purchase a new diving pool cover.
○ No Action
New Business
● Discuss the current hourly rate for the guards.
○ Giving the pool guards a raise was discussed. A suggestion was made to give each guard a $1.00 hourly raise across the board. Gary Reiners made a motion to give all the pool guards a $1.00 hourly raise. Ernie Pearson seconded the motion. All votes were in favor. The motion to raise the pool guards wage $1.00 across the board was approved.
○ The committee questioned if the guards are expected to pay for the required classes they must take and pass to be qualified to be a guard. It was discussed and proposed that the Gibson City Pool pay the fee as this class is required by the state. Ernie Pearson made a motion that the fees be paid by the Gibson City Pool. Gary Reiners seconded the motion. All votes were in favor. The motion was approved.
● Discussion of any management considerations we may encounter as they begin construction of the new pool.
○ No Action
● Confirm meeting dates and times for the remainder of the year.
○ No yearly meeting times and dates were decided on. We will determine the next meeting date, time, and place at the end of the current meeting.
Next Meeting
● The next scheduled meeting will be Thursday, May 16, at 6:00 P.M. at The Gibson City Shooting Range.
