Champaign issues building permits for high-value construction projects

The Champaign Fire Department's Building Safety Division has recently issued building permits for projects with an estimated construction value of $250,000 or more. The permitted projects include a retail alteration at 2000 N Neil, valued at $608,000 and issued on May 7, 2024, and an office alteration at 100 Trade Center, valued at $550,000 and issued on May 8, 2024.

The overall construction value for the year 2024 thus far is reported to be $40,587,358.
