Village of Rossville Finance & Purchasing Committee met March 18

Here are the minutes provided by the committee:

Trustee Black called the meeting to order at 6:45 p.m. The meeting was held at the Rossville Municipal Building located at 120 East Attica Street in Rossville.

Committee members physically present-Trustees Black and Jones

Committee members absent –None

Committee members electronically present-Trustee Gammon

Guests present were Mayor Queen, Clerk White, Trustees Cornell, Richison and Daniel, Superintendent Lusk, Jim Crose from Crose Insurance, Sherry Decker and Jason Miles

Minutes of the February 19, 2024 committee meeting were presented. Motion was made by Jones, seconded by Black to dispense with the reading of the minutes and accept the minutes as presented. Vote: Jones, yes; Black, yes.

Current bills were reviewed. Motion was made by Jones, seconded by Black to accept and approve the bills for payment. Vote: Black, yes; Jones, yes.

Treasurer’s report – Motion was made by Black, seconded by Jones to approve the Treasurer's report for February 2024. Vote: Jones, yes; Black, yes.

Two gas CDs matured March 16, 2024, 1 for approximately $269,000 and the other for approximately $349,000. Clerk White obtained new rates from Iroquois Federal and Bank of Rantoul, which were presented to board members in their board packets. Motion was made by Black, seconded by Jones to purchase 2 new gas CDs from Iroquois Federal at the 4.18% interest rate with an APY of 4.25%. Vote: Jones, yes; Black, yes.

Motion was made by Black, seconded by Jones to adjourn the meeting. Vote: Jones, yes; Black, yes. The meeting adjourned at 6:51 p.m.
