The online registration for the spring Residential Electronics Collection Event is set to open on Monday, April 1, 2024. Participants will have the opportunity to secure one of the available 15-minute time slots between 8 a.m. and 12 p.m. for the event, which will be held on Saturday, May 18, 2024, at Parkland College. The initiative is co-sponsored by the City of Champaign, City of Urbana, Village of Savoy, and Champaign County.

As part of the registration process, individuals will receive a confirmation email and/or text message immediately upon reserving a time slot. Additionally, a postcard will be sent via U.S. Mail approximately 10-14 days before the event, serving as the entry "ticket."

The event organizers have outlined specific guidelines regarding the items that will be accepted, including a limit of four TVs per postcard, encompassing all types, models, and sizes, whether in working or non-working condition. Moreover, there is a total limit of seven items per postcard. Small items such as cords, chargers, and mice can be bundled or placed in a small box, counting as a single item.

For any assistance related to event registration, residents can reach out to Nichole Millage, Environmental Sustainability Specialist, via email at [email protected] or by calling 217-403-4780.

The online registration will continue until all 15-minute time slots are filled, ensuring ample opportunity for community members to participate in the Residential Electronics Collection Event.
