Village of Mahomet Board of Trustees met Feb. 27.

Here are the minutes provided by the board:

1. CALL TO ORDER: Meeting was called to order at 6:00 PM

2. PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE

3. ROLL CALL: Mohr called the roll. Trustees Colravy, Tompkins, Harpst, Preston, Oliger and Metzger are all present. Additionally, Sean Widener, Village President, Patrick Brown, Village Administrator, Joe Chamley, Village Attorney, Mike Metzler, Chief of Police, Dan Waldinger, Parks & Recreation Director,

4. PUBLIC COMMENT: No Public comment submitted to the clerk nor is there any in person comments.

5. PRESENTATION: IPRA/IAPD 2023 Community Service Award presentation to Mark Follis and the Upper Sangamon River Conservancy Waldinger presented the award to Mark Follis.

6. CONSENT AGENDA (TO BE ACTED UPON): Widener asks if there are any comments or questions, none are presented Widener called for a motion to approve the consent agenda, Harpst moved and Oliger seconded. Mohr called the roll, ALL VOTES YES 6-0

1. Resolution 24-02-01, A Resolution to Purchase an Upgraded Security Video Camera System for the Police Department for a Cost Not to Exceed $39,000

3. Resolution 24-02-02, A Resolution Accepting the Annual Treasurer’s Report for Fiscal Year Ending April 30, 2023.

D. TRANSPORTATION:

1. Ordinance 24-02-01, An Ordinance Amending the Landscape Waste Program by Amending Parts of Chapter 50 Entitled “Garbage and Refuse” as Hereinafter provided.

7. REGULAR AGENDA (TO BE ACTED UPON):

A. ADMINISTRATION:

1. Resolution 24-02-03, A Resolution Authorizing a Professional Services Agreement with Moran Economic Development, LLC to Establish a Business District Redevelopment Project Area. Brown updated the board on the questions they had previously. The district can be amended in the future, the rate can change and the term cannot be extended. Widener asks if there are any more questions or comments, none are presented. Widener calls for a motion to approve the resolution, Tompkins moved and Colravy seconded. Mohr called the roll ALL VOTES YES 6-0.

B. COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT:

1. Resolution 24-02-04 concerning a Village of Mahomet Protest of Champaign County Zoning Board of Appeals Case No. 129-AM-24. Heckman explained the reasoning for the protest and that she would be attending the Champaign County Zoning Board meeting. She stated that this resolution is preempted. Widener asks if there are any additional comments or questions, none are presented. Widener calls for a motion to approve the resolution, Metzger moved and Harpst seconded. Mohr called the roll, ALL VOTES YES 6-0.

C. WATER/WASTEWATER:

1. Resolution 24-02-05, A Resolution to Accept and Engineering Service Agreement with Fehr Graham & Associates, LLC for Construction Services Phase of 2020 Water Main Improvement Project (IEPA Loan # L17-5789) for the Not-To -Exceed Amount of $211,000. Brown explained that the adjustments were made to the resolution as directed adding that the agreement is contingent upon loan approval. Widener asks if there are any comments or questions, none are presented. Widener calls for a motion to approve the resolution, Metzger moved and Preston seconded. Mohr calls the roll, ALL VOTES YES 6-0.

D. FINANCE:

1. Ordinance 24-02-02, An Ordinance Authorizing Acceptance of Agreements Between the Village of Mahomet and Credit Cards Processing Providers. Brown explains that the new processing provider will allow staff to collect payments for all items with a credit/debit card. That the current processor does not. Widener asks if there are any comments or questions, none are presented. Widener calls for a motion to approve the ordinance, Oliger moved and Preston seconded. Mohr called the roll ALL VOTES YES 6-0.

8. MAYOR’S REPORT: Widner states that the next joint meeting with the school board is April 29th. That the topic is Finance 101
