Champaign Police responded to a shooting incident in the 1400 block of N. Hickory Street on Friday night, where a 24-year-old female victim was injured. The woman, who remains in stable condition, was attending a party when the incident occurred.
According to the police, the woman was struck by a single shot during the gathering, prompting a quick transfer to a local hospital for treatment. As the investigation continues, officers are actively seeking witnesses and surveillance footage from the area to aid in their inquiries.
Authorities have urged anyone with information about the incident to come forward by contacting the Champaign Police at 217-351-4545. They have also emphasized the anonymity of sharing information, highlighting that details provided to Crime Stoppers will remain confidential.
