Washington - The U.S. House of Representatives recently voted on the National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA) for Fiscal Year 2024. Congresswoman Mary Miller (IL-15) voted against the legislation, citing concerns over abortion funding and FISA spying abuses.
In a statement, Miller expressed her disappointment with the bill, accusing President Biden and Senator Schumer of including "woke ideology" and forcing taxpayers to pay for abortion-related costs through the abortion travel policy. Miller argued that the NDAA should focus solely on providing authorization and oversight for the Defense Department on behalf of the American people.
Furthermore, Miller criticized the extension of FISA spying powers in the bill, calling for reform to prevent the Biden administration from spying on American citizens without a warrant for political purposes. She highlighted the need for serious FISA reform, stating that partisan politics has infected the FBI and intelligence community, pointing to the alleged abuses during the Obama-Biden administration's "Russia Collusion Hoax" against the Trump Administration.
Miller also raised concerns about national security, specifically regarding the 8 million foreign nationals who have illegally crossed the U.S. border under Biden's administration. She claimed that among these individuals are known terrorists and military-aged men from China and the Middle East, posing a significant threat to national security.
Expressing frustration with the lack of action to address the border crisis, Miller criticized Biden for allegedly using the Department of Justice and the security state to target and prosecute his political opponents. She argued that the House must check, restrain, and restrict the Biden administration, but claimed that the NDAA fails to accomplish this.
Miller's opposition to the Biden-Schumer NDAA is rooted in her concerns over abortion funding and FISA spying abuses. She argues that the bill is laden with woke ideology and fails to provide sufficient oversight and authorization for the Defense Department. Furthermore, Miller raises concerns about national security and accuses Biden of targeting political opponents through the DOJ and security state.
