Village of Pesotum Board of Trustees met Oct. 18.

Here are the minutes provided by the board:

BOARD OF TRUSTEES STUDY SESSION MEETING

1. Call to Order

Village President, Joyce Ragle, called the meeting to order at 6:32 p.m.

2. Pledge of Allegiance and Roll Call

The Pledge of Allegiance was recited. In attendance were Village President Joyce Ragle; Village Trustees: Dee Ann Hoffman, Jennifer Gumbel-Paeth, Todd Jamison, and Village Maintenance Rob Wood. Robert Russian arrived after the meeting had begun. Trustee Nathan Nierenhausen and Village Building Inspector Lyle Reed were not in attendance. Village Clerk, Christine Conner, previously informed the board she would not be present. Jennifer Gumbel-Paeth served as Clerk Pro-Tempore

3. Presentations/Comments from the General Public

Mary Zwilling informed the board what she feels is important to include when creating the new Water Treatment survey.

4. Old Business

4.1. The board discussed the proposed wording for the notice and new survey regarding the new Sanitary Sewer System and Wastewater Treatment Plant. Mary Zwilling pointed out a typographical error with the date. Dee Ann Hoffman requested the day of the week be added.

4.2. Joyce Ragle gave an update on the property at 105 E. Adams Street. The house has been torn down and the area has been filled with dirt. The former occupant had a court hearing October 17, 2023.

5. New Business

5.1 Joyce Ragle received a letter of interest from Village resident, Janice Thomas, to become a Trustee for the Village Board. This will be addressed at the next Village Board of Trustees meeting.

5.2 Joyce Ragle received a letter regarding a proposed solar farm south of Pesotum, near County Rd 0 North, between the railroad tracks and Route 45.

6. Presentations/Comments from the Board

Rob Russian brought to the board’s attention that Illinois American Water is doing some repair work around town, which has required some digging. Some areas of town were on a boil order over the weekend.

7.1. Next Village Board of Trustees Meeting, Wednesday, November 1, 2023, 6:30 p.m.

7.2. Next Village Board of Trustees Study Session, Wednesday, November 15, 2023, 6:30 p.m.

8. Adjournment

Dee Ann Hoffman made a motion to adjourn. Jennifer Gumbel-Paeth seconded. Meeting adjourned at 7:30 p.m.
