Piatt County taxpayers ranked 74th in total sales taxes paid per county in March, according to Illinois tax records.

In total, Piatt County residents paid $114,574 in sales taxes during March.

Piatt County ranked 75th in the Prairie State the month before, with $114,515 spent in sales taxes.

The County School Facility Tax accounted for the largest share of sales taxes paid by Piatt County residents in March.

Illinois is currently the highest taxed state in the US. A study from Wallet Hub found Illinois taxes are 39.83% higher than the national average.
