Village of Pesotum Board of Trustees met Sept. 20

Here are the minutes provided by the board:

VILLAGE BOARD OF TRUSTEES SPECIAL MEETING

1. Call to Order 

Village President, Joyce Ragle, called the meeting to order at 6:30 p.m.

2. Pledge of Allegiance and Roll Call

The Pledge of Allegiance was recited, and roll call taken. Present was Village President, Joyce Ragle, Village Trustees, Dee Ann Hoffman, Jennifer Gumbel-Paeth, Nathan Nierenhausen, and Todd Jamison, Village Maintenance, Rob Wood, Village Treasurer, Melanie Schultz, Village Clerk, Christine Conner, and Village Attorney, Elizabeth Megli.  Absent was Village Trustee and ESDA Coordinator, Rob Russian, and Village Building Inspector, Lyle Reed.

3. Presentations/Comments from the Board

Motion made by Dee Ann Hoffman, second by Nathan Nierenhausen, to enter into Executive Session, pursuant to Section 120/2(c)(5) of the Open Meetings Act to consider “the purchase or lease of real property for the use of the public body, including meetings held for the purpose of discussing whether a particular parcel should be acquired”. Motion passed.

Motion made by Nathan Nierenhausen, second by Jennifer Gumbel-Paeth, to re-convene to the Special Meeting of the Village Board of Trustees. Motion passed.

4. Old Business

4.1 Motion made by Todd Jamison, seconded by Dee Ann Hoffman, to untable the discussion and acceptance of construction plans for Drainage Project, and authorizing bidding of same. Motion passed.

Motion made by Nathan Nierenhausen, second by Jennifer Gumbel-Paeth, to approve the Berns & Clancy drainage plans for Base Bid and Base Alternate 1, and either additional projects 1 or 2 as Bid Alternate 2. Motion passed.

Motion made by Dee Ann Hoffman, second by Nathan Nierenhausen, to authorize bidding of the Drainage Project.  Motion passed. 

4.2 Motion made by Todd Jamison, second by Jennifer Gumbel-Paeth, to accept the amended Davis Memorial Cemetery plat by Berns and Clancy.  Motion passed.

5. New Business

5.1 Motion made by Dee Ann Hoffman, second by Todd Jamison, Authorizing           Purchase of Real Property with PIN 18-32-23-157-002. Motion passed.

5.2 Motion made by Todd Jamison, second by Dee Ann Hoffman, to adopt a   Resolution Determining Tax Levy Requirements Pursuant to the “Truth in     Taxation Act”. Motion passed.

5.3 Motion made by Dee Ann Hoffman, second by Nathan Nierenhausen, to adopt a Tax Levy Ordinance and Certified Copy of Tax Levy Ordinance. Motion passed.

5.4 Motion made by Jennifer Gumbel-Paeth, second by Todd Jamison, to approve of Truth in Taxation Certificate of Compliance. Motion passed.

6. Announcements

6.1 Next Village Board of Trustees Meeting, Wednesday, October 4, 2023, 6:30 p.m.

6.2 Next Village Board of Trustees Study Session, October 18, 2023, 6:30 p.m.

7. Adjournment 

Motion made by Todd Jamison, second by Dee Ann Hoffman, to adjourn from the Special Meeting of the Village Board of Trustees. Motion passed. Meeting adjourned at 7:23 p.m.
