City of Paxton City Council met April 25.

Here are the minutes provided by the council:

The adjourned meeting of the Paxton City Council was held on Tuesday, April 25, 2023, at 7:00pm in the City Council Chambers.

Mayor Ingold called the meeting to order at 7:01pm.

Roll call showed the following Aldermen in attendance: Cox, Crutcher, Evans, Pacey, Wilson and Withers. Also in attendance were Mayor Bill Ingold, Treasurer/Comptroller Tammy Jensen, Police Chief Cornett, Attorney Marc Miller, Water/sewer Supervisor Bob Carleton, Street/Alley Supervisor Jesse Houtzel, and members of the audience.

PUBLIC WORKS – ALDERMAN WITHERS

Emily Jenkins from Farnsworth Group was present to discuss their plans for correcting the drainage issues. The City is not eligible to apply for grants until they have identified the issues.

Alderman Withers motioned to approve the Drainage Plan Project. Alderman Evans seconded the motion. Roll Call: ayes- Alderman Cox, Crutcher, Evan, Pacey Wilson, and Withers. All ayes, motion carried.

Alderman Withers motioned to approve MFT Projects FY24, not to exceed $220,000, Franklin: Elm to American. Taft Street: Pells to State, Alley between Center and Pells, Orleans Street: High to Winter. And to eliminate Strong St: Larson to Washington, Summer to South end of Cambridge, Prospect: W Union. Alderman Wilson seconded the motion. Roll Call: ayes- Alderman Cox, Crutcher, Pacey, Wilson, and Withers. Abstain – Evans. Five ayes, one abstain, motion carried.

Alderman Withers motioned to adjourn the meeting. Alderman Evans seconded the motion. All ayes, motion carried. Meeting adjourned at 7:33pm.
