City of Danville Board of Fire & Police Commissioners met March 14.

Interim Chairperson Hoose called the Board Meeting to order at 5:07 P.M. Roll call was taken.

MAYOR'S COMMENTS: N/A
CHAIRPERSON COMMENTS: N/A
CORPORATION COUNSEL: N/A
CLOSED SESSION: At 5:10 PM Commissioner Fredericks motioned to go into closed session under section 2 (c) of the open meetings act to conduct the interviews of the (6) six police candidates seconded by Commissioner Nacco.
RETURN TO OPEN SESSION: At 7:15 PM Commissioner Fredericks motioned to go into open session, seconded by Commissioner Hager.
Chief Yates: Appreciates everyone attending the special meeting. Also thanked Taylor for attending.
The recommendation for the process: Looking at all of their files, their background checks, written test scores after all the interviews so it doesn't create any unconscious bias. The final list will be made for the board to sign off on it. Fully supports the Board in all they do with their authority of selecting and hiring of the new officers.
NEW HIRES:
Commissioner Nacco motioned to extend the offer to hire (3) police candidates, seconded by Commissioner Dowell:

#3. Jared Cornwell
There being no further items to discuss, there was a motion by Commissioner Nocco to adjourn the regular meeting at 7:30 PM, seconded by Commissioner Fredericks. On the voice vote, all ayes, no nays: the motion was so ordered.
