Q4 2021 Recap: 2 parolees from Vermilion County convicted of homicide set for release

There were two offenders convicted of homicide living in Vermilion County released on parole during the fourth quarter of 2021, according to Illinois Department of Corrections data obtained by the Chambana Sun.

The data shows both of the released offenders among the parolees were men. The median age of the parolees sentenced for homicide was 40. The younger parolee was a 34-year-old man sentenced in 2010, and the oldest was a 46-year-old man sentenced in 1998.

The offender who had been incarcerated the longest was Antoine Davis. He was convicted in 1998 when he was 21 years old. He is now 46.

Under state law, paroled offenders are still in legal custody of the IDOC, meaning they can be taken back to a correctional center at any time if the state has probable cause or a warrant.
