Q3 2021 Recap: 2 parolees from Vermilion County convicted of crimes against justice set for release

There were two offenders convicted of crimes against justice living in Vermilion County released on parole during the third quarter of 2021, according to Illinois Department of Corrections data obtained by the Chambana Sun.

The data shows both of the released offenders among the parolees were men. The median age of the parolees sentenced for crimes against justice was 40. The younger parolee was a 38-year-old man sentenced in 2020, and the oldest was a 41-year-old man sentenced in 2021.

The offender who had been incarcerated the longest was Octavius Stancle. He was convicted in 2020 when he was 36 years old. He is now 38.

Under state law, paroled offenders are still in legal custody of the IDOC, meaning they can be taken back to a correctional center at any time if the state has probable cause or a warrant.
