Carle Foundation Hospital and Carle BroMenn Medical Center have received the Stroke Gold Plus Quality Achievement Award for stroke treatment and care.
This award recognizes Carle’s achievement in the Get with the Guidelines program from the American Heart Association (AHA) and American Stroke Association (ASA), meaning these facilities met strict quality achievement measures in the diagnosis and treatment of patients. This includes proper medication and treatment, reducing mortality rates, quick recovery and limiting disability due to stroke.
“Stroke is the leading cause for disability in the US. How fast patients get treatment and getting the latest and best treatments can greatly impact how patients do. We are committed to providing better outcomes for our patients every single day,” Amrendra Miranpuri, MD, endovascular neurosurgeon and stroke specialist with Carle Health said. “When we receive a prestigious recognition for the work we do, it supports that when you come to Carle you are receiving the best in stroke care. The Get with the Guidelines program allows us to better track how our patients are doing and ensure every patient is receiving the highest quality care.”
This is the tenth year in a row that Carle BroMenn Medical Center has achieved Stroke Gold Plus Quality Achievement Award. Both medical facilities also received the Honor Roll Elite and Type II Diabetes Honor Roll from the AHA, again meeting standards for excellence for specific aspects of stroke care.
Carle Foundation Hospital is the only Comprehensive Stroke Center in central Illinois. The hospital has achieved this designation every three years during the American Hospital Association’s (AHA) renewal period.
Carle BroMenn Medical Center is a Primary Stroke Center. Patients have access to a rehabilitation center for recovery from a stroke or other illness or injury. Carle also commits to patient education, follow up and easy transitional care. These facilities also meet the quality measures in time between patient arrival to the hospital and treatment.
