Urbana 69th highest taxed Illinois municipality in April

Urbana taxpayers paid the 69th highest amount in sales taxes in April, according to Illinois tax records.

Taxpayers in Urbana paid $1.1 million in April.

Urbana was ranked 69th the month before.

Of all the taxes Urbana residents paid for, Municipal Sales Tax was the most contributed to tax.

Illinois is the highest taxed state in the US.

A 2021 study from Wallet Hub found Illinois taxes are 38.95 percent higher than the national average.
