Recognition of Visitors:
Gary Lutterbie updated the council regarding an improvement in the planning stages for Jordan Fishing Pond. With the money donated by the Presbyterian Church and Kevin & LeAnn Seymour ($20K total) the committee is proposing an additional dock, similar to the one installed in 2017 which is 10’ x 20’. The new dock is planned to be 8’ x 10’ at a cost of $16,000.00, and a 50% down-payment is required to proceed. Mayor Dickey asked for a ‘nod’ from council since this item was not placed on the Agenda for a formal vote tonight. All council agreed to approve as described by Lutterbie, and this item will be on the Agenda for the next regular council meeting. With the informal approval, the office can cut the 50% check in order for the committee to proceed.
Mike Bleich – gave a report of this past Saturday’s annual Clean-Up Day. Superintendent Link ordered 4 20 cubic yard dumpsters and 2 30 cubic yard dumpsters, and Bleich stated that all were full when the event closed at 12:30 p.m. Mike Bleich wrote a grant for financial assistance toward the old tires drop-off, and he said it was quite successful in that 129 tires were brought to Neal Tire for disposal. Mayor Dickey and council shared their thanks and appreciation to Mike and his volunteers for the continued success of Clean-Up Day. Donations collected will be turned over to the office and designated to the Beautification Fund.
