Sen. Jason Barickman (R-Paxton) confirmed the deadline to register for a Youth Advisory Council. After the Illinois legislature finished its spring session, Barickman explained how to register for the event in a Facebook post.
The Youth Advisory Council session will take place on April 29 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Eagle Performing Arts and Conference Center, 319 N. Plum St., in Pontiac, Ill.
"If you know a high school student from the 53rd district interested in state government, mark for calendars for April 29," Barickman said in a post on his official Facebook page. "I will be hosting my spring Youth Advisory Council in Pontiac. Please RSVP via email by April 20 with Michaelene Mays: mmays@sgop.ilga.gov"
This event is intended for high school students in the 53rd district who might be considering a career in state government. The deadline to register is April 20. Interested parties should email Michaelene Mays by that date.
Approximately 70 students participated in the Youth Advisory Council event in November 2019.
