Analysis: Cerro Gordo administrators rank 263rd in state for average pay

Administrators in Cerro Gordo Community Unit School District 100 earn an average of $111,626 per year, ranking 263rd out of 864 districts in Illinois, according to a Chambana Sun analysis of the latest Illinois schools report card.

The 2020 average is 15.4 percent higher than in 2016 and 27 percent higher than in 2011. District administrators make 0.3 percent more than the state average of $111,293.

Administrator salaries depend on the district's size, location and resources, as well as the individual's level of experience and education, according to the Illinois State Board of Education report.

The Cerro Gordo School District in Piatt County enrolled 467 students in 2019-2020. There is an average of 156 students for every administrator, compared to a statewide ratio of 171 to 1.
