MINUTES

I. Call to Order

Committee Chair Thorsland called the meeting to order at 4:30 p.m.

II. Roll Call

A verbal roll call was taken, and a quorum was declared present.

III. Approval of Agenda/Addenda

MOTION by Mr. Goss to approve the agenda; seconded by Ms. Michaels. Upon vote, the MOTION CARRIED unanimously.

IV. Approval of Minutes

A. Open Session – January 13, 2021

MOTION by Ms. Michaels to approve the open session minutes of January 13, 2021; seconded by Mr. Goss. Upon vote, the MOTION CARRIED unanimously.

V. Public Participation

None

VI. Closed Session Pursuant to 5 ILCS 120/2(c)(11) to consider litigation which is pending against or on behalf of Champaign County, and litigation that is probable or imminent against Champaign County

MOTION by Mr. Goss to enter into CLOSED session pursuant to 5 ILCS 120/2(c)(11) to consider litigation which is pending against or on behalf of Champaign County, and litigation that is probable or imminent against Champaign County and that the following parties remain present: Assistant State’s Attorney, Legal Counsel, Insurance Specialist, County Executive and recording secretary; seconded by Ms. Michaels. Upon roll call vote, the MOTION CARRIED unanimously.

The Litigation Committee entered Closed Session at 4:32 p.m.

The Litigation Committee resumed Open Session at 5:16 p.m.

VII. Other Business

A. Semi-Annual Review of Closed Session Minutes

MOTION by Ms. Michaels to retain all closed session minutes as such; seconded by Mr. Goss. Upon vote, the MOTION CARRIED unanimously.

B. Approval of Closed Session Minutes

1. June 24, 2020

2. November 5, 2020

3. January 13, 2021

OMNIBUS MOTION by Mr. Goss to approve the closed session minutes of June 24, 2020, November 5, 2020 and January 13, 2021; seconded by Ms. Michaels. Upon vote, the MOTION CARRIED unanimously.
