City of Hoopeston City Council Met May 18.

PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE
I. Meeting called to order by Mayor Crusinberry.
II. Roll Call: All eight council members were present: Eyrich, Ferrell, Florek, Garrett, Lawson,
Porth, Richards and Wise.
III. Agenda: Garrett moved to approve the agenda seconded by Ferrell. Agenda was approved 8-0.
IV. Minutes: Motion by Ferrell to approve minutes from previous meeting, seconded by Eyrich.
Minutes approved 8-0.
V. Payment of Bills: Florek moved to pay bills, seconded by Lawson. Roll call vote and bills were approved for payment by roll call vote 8-0.
VI. Presentations: none
VII. Petitions to Council: none
VIII. REPORT OF OFFICERS
a) Alderman Eyrich reported that there was damage done to the cemetery from an auto accident. The driver had insurance. The damaged stones have been reset but will require additional repairs estimated to be about $20,000. The cemetery department has a 1970’s backhoe that will go out for bids.
b) Alderwoman Ferrell had nothing to report
c) Florek requested that council approve a Save the Pool fund and open a bank account for the donations and expenses for the Pool. She made the motion and Garrett seconded the motion. Roll call vote was taken and the motion to open the fund and bank account was approved 8-0. Fees and hours have been set for the season.
e) Lawson deferred to Fire Chief Bird to report on basketball goals being donated to “Cheese Park”. Labor to install the goal posts will also be donated.
f) Porth announced a Finance Meeting Thursday at 2:00 to discuss TIF.
g) Richards reported that a thank you for use of the Girl Scout House was received from Marta Watson along with a $400 donation.
h) Wise reported that a tree cutter will be in town around June 1.
