City of Hoopeston Historic Preservation Commission Met April 21.
Here is the minutes provided by the commission:
I. Meeting was called to order at 7:04pm
II. Roll Call – 7 members present: Jeanette Andre’, Valarie Hinkle, Kristy Kelnhofer, Debbie Benjamin, Ellen Scharlach, Marta Pierce & Brad Hardcastle.
III. Motion to approve minutes from the April 13th, 2021 meeting was made by Kristy and a second by
Valarie. All in favor, motion passed.
IV. Committee Reports:
A) Marketing: Meeting was called to finish the t-shirt order. 1st bid of $12 & $15 for extended sizes
from Logo’s. The commission had decided it was too high. We would have to sell for $20/$22.
Discussed with Logo’s that the cost was too high for us. A 2nd bid from Logo’s, stated they could do
$9.50 and $11 for extended sizes. Jeanette brought a sample of the shirt & it was a heat transfer not
a screen print. Discussion resulted in two decision: 1) that we did not want a heat transfer design
and 2) we cannot afford to do the screen print price Logo’s offered. The desire to stay local cannot
be achieved at this cost. Freckles from Lafayette, Indiana had quoted $6.25 & $7.95. If we order over
#300, they offered $5.95 a shirt. The commission has already paid for the set-up to get the quote. Debbie made a motion to rescind the motion from March 23rd, 2021 that was passed to purchase t-
shirts from Logo’s and to purchase the t-shirts from Freckles in Lafayette in the 3 colors of white,
heathered gray and hunter green. 24/sm; 24/med; 48/lg; 48/xl; 24/xxl; 12/xxxl = #180 total. Valarie
seconded the motion. All in favor, motion passed. Jeanette will contact Freckles to order.
Brad presented a quote of $94 for #50 of 6” Proud Supporter with Sesquicentennial Logo window
clings. These will be for our sponsors. This same company can do the 2 1⁄2” button with Logo that we
wanted. The quote: 500-$165, 1000-$298, 2000-$559, 3000-$816. Also, a 2” round sticker with Logo
quoted as 500-$131 or 1000-$195. Valarie made a motion to purchase 1000 buttons for $298, 1000
stickers for $195 and 50 of the 6” window clings for $94. A second was made by Kristy. All in favor,
motion passed.
V. Adjourn: a motion to adjourn at 7:33pm was made by Valarie with a second from Jeanette. All in favor.
