City of Hoopeston City Council Met Feb. 23.

Here is the minutes provided by the council:

Mayor called the meeting to order following the Pledge.

Roll call was conducted. The seven Council members present were Ankenbrand, Florek, Goodwine, Lawson, McElhaney, Wise and Eyrich. Garrett was absent.

Agenda Approval: Florek moved to approve the agenda seconded by Ankenbrand. Agenda was approved 7-0.

Minutes of Prior Meeting: Ankenbrand moved to approve minutes seconded by Wise. Minutes of prior meeting were approved 7-0.

Payment of Bills: Lawson moved to approve payment of bills seconded by Wise. Bills were approved for payment by roll call vote 7-0.

Report of Officers:

a. Ankenbrand had nothing to report.

b. Florek had nothing to report.

c. Garrett was absent

d. Goodwine had nothing to report.

e. Wise made the motion to approve the Motor Fuel Tax Expenditure Statement for FY 2021. Ankenbrand seconded the motion. Roll call vote approved the motion 7-0.

f. Lawson had nothing to report.

g. McElhaney had nothing to report.

h. Eyrich had nothing to report.

Resolution Grant Acceptance & Funding Agreement from IHDA & Officer Certificate/Certificate of Incumbency IHDA Grant: Ankenbrand move to approve Resolution 2021-6 with a second by Wise. Roll call vote was taken and the resolution was approved 7-0.

Mayor comments: Mayor Crusinberry stated a new business has located in Hoopeston and two other businesses are looking very promising.

Crusinberry informed council that Mike Davis with Central Illinois Land Bank is scheduled to be at the March 2 council meeting to discuss the International Property Maintenance Code and answer questions council members may have.

Ankenbrand moved to adjourn seconded by Wise. Council adjourned at 7:20 p.m.
