Champaign County Chamber of Commerce Inc issued the following announcement on Jan. 15.
The Champaign County Chamber of Commerce is now accepting nominations for the 2021 ATHENA Award® Recipient and 2021 ATHENA Young Professional Award® Recipient.
The recipient of the ATHENA Award® demonstrates excellence, creativity and initiative in his or her business or profession; provides valuable service by devoting time and energy to improve the quality of life for others in the community; and assists women in reaching their full leadership potential.

The ATHENA Young Professional Award® is given to an emerging leader who strives toward the highest levels of personal and professional accomplishment and serves as a role model for young women. This award is sponsored by past recipients of the ATHENA Award®.

The 2021 ATHENA Award® luncheon is sponsored by the Champaign County Chamber of Commerce and Spherion Staffing Services. The recipient’s lapel pin is provided by Busey Wealth Management.
Nominations are due back to the Chamber by Friday, February 26 by 3:00 p.m. Late nominations will not be considered. Our intention is to celebrate the 2021 ATHENA Award® Recipient at an in-person event in May. Details of such event are subject to change given any forthcoming CDC and public health guidelines or mitigation measures.
