Rantoul City School District 137 issued the following announcement on Oct. 24.
The District has been closely monitoring the health and safety of our students and staff.
We have become aware that an employee at Eastlawn Elementary has been diagnosed with COVID-19. The last time the COVID-19 positive individual was in the school setting while they were possibly contagious is Friday, October 16, 2020. No students or staff may be at higher risk due to “close contact” with the person that has been diagnosed with COVID-19. The Health Department makes that final determination.
We have become aware that an employee at Pleasant Acres Elementary has been diagnosed with COVID-19. The last time the COVID-19 positive individual was in the school setting while they were possibly contagious was Tuesday, October 20, 2020. It is possible that one other staff member may be at higher risk due to “close contact” with the person that has been diagnosed with COVID-19. No students have been identified as close contacts. The Health Department makes that final determination.
