Q1 2020 Parolees Recap: Who was paroled in Ford County?

There were six offenders released on parole during the first quarter of 2020 that live in Ford County, according to Illinois Department of Corrections data obtained by Chambana Sun.

The data shows that four men and two women were released in Ford County. The median age of the parolees was 46. The youngest parolee was a 28-year-old man sentenced for a crime against justice in 2019, and the oldest was a 67-year-old man sentenced for a crime involving alcohol in 2019.

The offender who had been incarcerated the longest was Chad A. Hewerdine. He was convicted of a sex crime in 2009 when he was 27 years old. He is now 39.

Under state law, paroled offenders are still in legal custody of the IDOC, meaning they can be taken back to a correctional center at any time if the state has probable cause or a warrant.

The table below gives a breakdown of how many offenders were paroled in the first quarter of 2020 in each Ford County municipality with at least one parolee in the quarter.
