Gibson City FPD responds to 20 fires in 2018

Gibson City Fire Protection District responded to 25 calls in 2018 - 3.8 percent less than the previous year, according to data from the National Fire Incident Reporting System.

The calls in Gibson City included 20 fires - eight structure fires, five vehicle fires and seven other fires.

In all, the department saw $52,520 in fire loss - or about $2,626 per fire.

The department also received five false calls.

The Gibson City Fire Protection District had an annual budget of $293,400 in 2018.
