Kickapoo Fire Protection District responded to 37 calls in 2018 - 37 percent more than the previous year, according to data from the National Fire Incident Reporting System.

The calls in Kickapoo included 27 fires - 12 structure fires, four vehicle fires and 11 other fires.

In all, the department saw $116,900 in fire loss - or about $4,330 per fire.

The department also received 10 false calls, including one malicious call and nine other false calls.

The Kickapoo Fire Protection District had an annual budget of $628,216 in 2018.
