RANTOUL CITY SCHOOL DISTRICT 137: An Employee At Northview Has Been Diagnosed With COVID-19

Coronapositive

Rantoul City School District 137 issued the following announcement on Sept. 18.

The District has been closely monitoring the health and safety of our students and staff. We have become aware that an employee at Northview has been diagnosed with COVID-19. The last time the COVID-19 positive individual was in the school setting while they were possibly contagious is Tuesday, September 15, 2020.

We have determined that we need to close the one affected classroom due to possible close contact and move to full remote learning until the date provided by the health department.

We have determined that other than this identified classroom, there are no other close contacts involving students at Northview.

Due to staff under quarantine and the special needs in a 2nd classroom, these students have been moved to full remote until the staff are released from quarantine by the health department. The reason the 2nd classroom has to move to full remote is that there are not enough employees to safely staff that 2nd classroom.

All parents of these two classrooms were contacted by phone.
