Job Description
Under general supervision of the Community Services Officer, crossing guards are responsible for directing traffic at assigned crossings to protect school children and to provide for the orderly movement of traffic.
Job Responsibilities:
Duties of the School Crossing Guard shall include, but shall not be necessarily limited to:
1. Reporting directly to assigned crossing stations, on time and remaining there until conclusions of assignment.
2. Ensuring that children use the proper crossing locations and that no children are in the street while traffic is moving.
3. Being alert for present or potential traffic hazards in the areas surrounding the assigned crossings.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Must pass background check and Mandated Reporter certification
Physical Requirements:
Ability to work in varied weather conditions with frequent walking and standing
