Analysis: Urbana pays $2.79 for every $1 pensioners contribute to Urbana Police Pension Fund

Taxpayers contributed 73.6 percent of the $1,715,465 the Urbana Police Pension Fund brought in 2018, or $2.79 for every $1 from pension members, according to a Chambana Sun analysis of the latest data reported to the Illinois Department of Insurance Pension Division.

In all, Urbana contributed $1,263,112 to the fund, which saw a $42,658 increase in revenue over 2017. Members contributed $452,353, or 26.4 percent, in 2018.
