Monticello Chamber Of Commerce issued the following announcement on June 6.
If you plan to visit our community over the weekend, we encourage you to call ahead if there is a specific store or restaurant you wish to visit to find out any adjustment to their operation. On Saturday, there will be a Demonstration for Justice and Peace taking place in our downtown. Another group has invited people to our community through an event called Patriots United to Protect Monticello IL. A march is planned. The planned path will impede access to some stores and will involve roads on which some of our restaurants' only available seating is found. Traffic and parking will be impacted. Please plan your trip accordingly.
