New Cerro Gordo Community Unit School District 100 Board of Education met Sept. 25.

Here is the minutes provided by the Board:

The Regular Meeting of the CGCU #100 Board of Education was called to order by President Piraino at 6:35 p.m. in the high school band room.

Board members Freese, Greenwood, Hayes, Henricks, Miller, Piraino and Runyen answered roll call. Also present were Administrators Neaveill, Robinson and Rodebaugh.

Piraino moved to adjourn to executive session at 6:35p.m. for 5 İLCS 120/2 © (1) - The appointment, employment, compensation, discipline, performance, or dismissal of specific employees of the public body. Freese seconded the motion. Roll call: Greenwood, yea; Hayes, yea; Henricks, yea; Miller, yea; Piraino, yea; Runyen, yea; Freese, yea. Motion carried all yeas.

Henricks moved to return from executive session at 7:10 p.m. Hayes seconded the motion. Roll call: Hayes, yea; Henricks, yea; Miller, yea; Piraino, yea; Runyen, yea; Freese, yea; Greenwood, yea. Motion carried all yeas.

Freese moved to approve the minutes of executive session as having been read in executive session. Greenwood seconded the motion. Roll call: Hayes, yea; Henricks, yea; Miller, yea; Piraino, yea; Runyen, yea; Greenwood, yea. Motion carried, all yeas.

Hayes moved to accept letter of resignation from Deana Hyde as part-time cook. Runyen seconded the motion. Roll call: Miller, yea; Piraino, yea; Runyen, yea; Freese, yea; Greenwood, yea; Hayes, yea; Henricks, yea. Motion carried, all yeas

Henricks moved to employ Norma Martinez as part-time cook pending successful completion of required background check. Freese seconded the motion. Roll call: Piraino, yea; Runyen, yea; Freese, yea; Greenwood, yea; Hayes, yea; Henricks, yea; Miller, yea. Motion carried, all yeas.

Henricks moved to employ Jennifer Taylor as part-time pre-k parent coordinator pending successful completion of required background check. Piraino seconded the motion. Roll call: Runyen, yea; Freese, yea; Greenwood, yea; Hayes, yea; Henricks, yea; Miller, yea; Piraino, yea. Motion carried, all yeas.

Freese moved to amend pay increase for cooks to 4.25 percent for the 19-20 school year. Runyen seconded the motion. Roll call: Freese, yea; Greenwood, yea; Hayes, yea; Henricks, yea; Miller, yea; Piraino, yea; Runyen, yea. Motion carried, all yeas.

Miller moved to accept the volunteer services of Toby Willard for high school boys' basketball pending successful completion of required background check. Piraino seconded the motion. Roll call: Greenwood, yea; Hayes, yea; Henricks, yea; Miller, yea; Piraino, yea; Runyen, yea; Freese, yea. Motion carried, all yeas.

Students of the month were recognized: 7th grade Ian Hawk, 8th grade Ali Walker, high school Ella Walker.

Piraino moved to approve the consent agenda as presented. The consent agenda consisted of the following:

Approve minutes of the August 21, 2019 regular meeting

Approve August financial reports

Approve Payment of September bills in the amount of $589,500.31

Approve administrator and teacher salary benefits report.

Henricks seconded the motion. Roll call: Hayes, yea; Henricks, yea; Miller, yea; Piraino, yea; Runyen, yea; Freese, yea; Greenwood, yea. Motion carried, all yeas.

Principal Neaveill reported the elementary school has had a wonderful start to the 2019 20 school year. The theme this year is "Be safe. Be responsible. Be respectful. Be the nice kid."' Mid-terms were sent home September 20. Students in grades 1-6 were tested the week of August 26, using STAR Reading and Math assessment, Bus safety drills were conducted by Birch Bus September 10 and 11. Back to school nights for grades K-6 were very well attended and child care was provided. Thank you to Chosen Singles Group from Faith Baptist Church and CG Church of the Brethren for their donations to the elementary school. Thank you to PTA for purchasing headphones for the students.

Principal Rodebaugh attended several meetings in September including Macon County Principals meeting September 5, Lincoln Prairie Conference meeting September 18 and JHOC meeting September 25. Mr. Willard will be taking a group of student athletes to an IHSA Leadership Conference September 30. Junior High dance is September 27. Homecoming activities were the week of September 16-21. Thank you to the fairgrounds for offering the use of the grounds for the homecoming bonfire.

Superintendent Robinson's highlights for September includes a meeting with representative from American Heart Association August 29. WHOW radio interview September 16. Attended Eastern Illinois Development Service superintendents meeting September 13. Met with the mayor regarding use of village's lot for football game parking September 11. Clow Controls repaired and replaced broken steam traps at the Jr/Sr High School. Installation of sound system in the new gym by Heart Technologies began September 23. Update on construction project progress.

Henricks moved to approve budget for FY 2020 as presented by Superintendent Robinson. Greenwood seconded the motion. Roll call: Henricks, yea; Miller, yea; Piraino, yea; Runyen, yea; Freese, yea; Greenwood, yea; Hayes, yea. Motion carried, all yeas.

Piraino moved to approve handbook language changes regarding pre-k student disciplinary guidelines to the elementary handbook as presented. Freese seconded the motion. Roll call: Miller, yea; Piraino, yea; Runyen, yea; Freese, yea; Greenwood, yea; Hayes, yea; Henricks, yea. Motion carried, all yeas.

Freese moved to approve overnight trips for FFA National Convention October 30 November 1 and Drama Club to Theatre Fest January 9-11. Miller seconded the motion. Roll call: Piraino, yea; Runyen, yea; Freese, yea; Greenwood, yea; Hayes, yea; Henricks, yea; Miller, yea. Motion carried, all yeas.

An annual review of bullying policy 7:180 "prevention of and response to bullying, intimidation and harassment” was completed by the board as required.

As there was no further action to come before the board, Piraino declared the meeting adjourned at 8:08 p.m.
