The Budget Hearing of the Board of Education of Community Unit School District No. 1 was called to order by Vice-President, Steve Lane at 6:00 p.m. in the Ellen R. Morris Board Room.

Motion by Tricia Hagley, second by Cheryl Brumett to approve the agenda of the September 9 Budget Hearing. Motion carried by unanimous voice vote.
Discussion regarding the FY20 Budget, Evidence Based Funding and IERMP insurance increase.
Motion by Emily Gernand, second by Maridith Hearnley to approve the FY2020 Budget.
Motion by Tricia Hagley, second by Emily Gernand to adjourn meeting at 6:05 p.m. Motion carried by unanimous voice vote.
The regular board meeting of the Board of Education of Community Unit School District No. 1 was called to order by Vice-President, Steve Lane at 6:10 p.m. in the Ellen R. Morris Board Room.
Motion by Cheryl Brumett, second by Tricia Hagley to approve the minutes of the August 12 regular meeting. Motion carried by unanimous voice vote.
Motion by Cheryl Brumett, second by Tricia Hagley to approve the bills of the month for September 2019. Motion carried by unanimous roll call vote.
Activity fund balances were approved.
Sixth Day enrollment information for 2019-2020 presented. Enrollment is one less than last year for Pre-K-8th grades.
Principal's report by Rusty Campbell for the junior high. New staff members for the junior high are Lauren McKenzie, PE teacher-long-term sub, Loris Laci, long-term sub and Kristy Dines, study hall/lunch scanner. Boys' baseball is 10-1 for the season and 7/8 softball is having a good year. There are 18 students in cross-country led by coach, Kaleb Weaver. Student Council is being sponsored by Katie Head. Greg Leigh is the coach for 5/6 Girls' BB. There are low numbers for the 7/8 Girls' BB. Culver's night is October 2 for 5-8 students.

Coop HS update - Kim Kuchenbrod is working on Career Awareness for high school students. 1:1 Tech. will be providing more information next month.

ALICE training will be September 18 for teachers and staff and September 26 for all students. There will be information provided for parents who have any questions.
Motion by Cheryl Brumett, second by Tricia Hagley to accept the three-year retirement letter of Rusty Campbell and to approve the 6% salary increase for the next three years as stated in the collective bargaining agreement. Motion carried by unanimous roll call vote.
Motion by Cheryl Brumett, second by Emily Gernand to approve the maternity request for Amy Ellis, beginning approximately October 5, 2019 and returning to work after Winter Break on January 6, 2020. Motion carried by unanimous roll call vote.
