Cerro Gordo Community Unit School District 100 Board of Education met Aug. 21.

Here is the minutes provided by the board:

The Regular Meeting of the CGCU #100 Board of Education was called to order by President Piraino at 6:30 p.m. in the high school band room.

Board members Freese, Greenwood, Hayes, Henricks, Miller, Piraino and Runyen answered roll call. Also present were Administrators Neaveill, Robinson and Rodebaugh.

Freese moved to adjourn to executive session at 6:30p.m, for 5 ILCS 120/2 © (1) - The appointment, employment, compensation, discipline, performance, or dismissal of specific employees of the public. Henricks seconded the motion. Roll call: Miller, yea; Piraino, yea; Runyen, yea; Freese, yea; Greenwood, yea; Henricks, yea; Hayes, yea. Motion carried all yeas.

Runyen moved to return from executive session at 7:30 p.m. Freese seconded the motion, Roll call: Henricks, yea; Miller, yea; Piraino, yea; Runyen, yea; Greenwood, yea; Hays, yea. Motion carried, all yeas.

Henricks moved to approve the minutes of executive session as having been read in executive session. Greenwood seconded the motion. Roll call: Hayes, yea; Henricks, yea; Miller, yea; Piraino, yea; Runyen, yea; Greenwood, yea. Motion carried, all yeas.

Freese moved to accept letter of resignation from Jason Jacobs as JH boys track coach. Hayes seconded the motion. Roll call: Runyen yea; Greenwood, yea; Freese, yea; Miller, yea; Piraino, yea; Henricks, yea; Hayes, yea. Motion carried, all yeas.

Hayes moved to employ Frankie Martin and Jason Jacobs as JH/HS girls and boys cross country co-coaches. Freese seconded the motion. Roll call; Greenwood, yea; Freese, yea; Miller, yea; Piraino, yea; Henricks, yea; Hayes, yea; Runyen yea. Motion carried, all yeas.

Henricks moved to employ Jason Jacobs as JH boys assistant basketball coach. Piraino seconded the notion. Roll call: Freese, yea; Piraino, yea; Miller, yea; Runyen, yea; Henricks, yea; Hayes, yea; Greenwood, yea. Motion carried, all yeas.

Miller moved to accept letter of resignation from Roxanne Waterhouse as part-time cook. Freese seconded the motion. Roll call: Piraino, yea; Miller, yea; Henricks, yea; Hayes, yea; Runyen, yea; Greenwood, yea; Freese, yea. Motion carried, all yeas.

Fresse moved to employ Nancy Gorrell and Vicky Gagnon as part-time cooks pending successful completion of required background checks. Runyen seconded the motion. Roll call: Miller, yea; Henricks, yea; Hayes, yea; Runyen, yea; Greenwood, yea; Freese, yea; Piraino, yea. Motion carried, all yeas.

Freese moved to employ Ashley Spent as Broncos After Sschool director pending successful completion of required background check, Piraino seconded the motion. Roll call; Henricks, yea; Hayes, yea; Runyen, yea; Greenwood, yea; Freese, yea; Piraino, yea; Miller. Motion carried, all yeas.

Piraino moved to employ Anthony Herrera and Larry Young as custodians pending successful completion of required background check. Freese seconded the motion. Roll call: Hayes, yea; Runyen, yea; Greenwood, yea; Freese, yea; Piraino, yea; Miller; Henricks, yea. Motion carried, all yeas.

Miller moved to adopt a memorandum of understanding as presented by Superinentdent Robinson. Greenwood seconded the motion. Roll call: Runyen, yea; Greenwood, yea; Freese, yea; Piraino, yea; Miller; Henricks, yea; Hayes, yea. Motion carried, all yeas.

Henricks moved to approve the consent agenda as presented. The consent agenda consisted of the following:

Approve minutes of the July 17, 2019 regular meeting

Appoint Brett Robinson, Superintendent, as district administrator for IMRF and TRS and custodian of the District Imprest Fund for 2019-20.

Appoint Molly Owens, bookkeeper, as the district's Illinois Municipal Retirement Fund authorized agent.

Appoint building principals as custodians of school activity fund accounts-Jodi Neaveill, Cerro Gordo Elementary School; Jeremy Rodebaugh, Cerro Gordo Jr/Sr High School- for 2019 2010

Designate the State Bank of Cerro Gordo, Cerro Gordo, IL; State Bank of Bement, Bement, IL: Illinois School District Liquid Assets Fund Plus, Naperville. Il: The Illinois Funds. Springfield, IL and Illinois Institutional Investors Trust , Harrisburg, PA as depositories of district funds for 2019-2020.

Approve Payment of August bills in the amount of $478,394.83

Freese seconded the motion, Roll call: Greenwood, yea; Freese, yea; Piraino, yea; Miller; Henricks, yea; Hayes, yea; Runyen, yea. Motion carried, all yeas.

Superintendent Robinson's highlights for July includes Heartland Tech Academy committee meeting July 18, Macon Piatt ROE #39 Administrator's back to school breakfast Aug 8 and new school year meeting with the CGEA Aug 7. ALICE training was completed by the employees Aug 13. The Our Town Cerro Gordo tour was very well received with approximately 100 guests in attendance. Update on construction project progress.

Principals Neaveill and Rodebaugh reported on enrollment beginning the 19-20 school year. Elementary school has 248 students enrolled and the Jr/Sr. High school has 238 students enrolled. Total district enrollment 486 students. 

Piraino moved to approve 2nd reading and adopt IASB recommended board policy changes – issue 101. Miller seconded the motion. Roll call: Freese, yea; Piraino, yea; Miller; Henricks, yea; Hayes, yea; Runyen, yea; Greenwood, yea. Motion carried, all yeas.

Greenwood moved to approve tentative budget for FY20 as presented by Superintendent Robinson. Henricks seconded the motion. Roll call: Piraino, yea; Miller; Henricks, yea; Hayes, yea; Runyen, yea; Greenwood, yea; Freese, yea. Motion carried, all yeas.

Regularly scheduled September 18, 2019 meeting has been moved to September 25, 2019.

Superintendent Robinson stated we will be working with Bement to resolve sports co-op agreement payment.

As there was no further action to come before the board, Piraino declared the meeting adjourned at 8:25 p.m.
