St. Joseph home prices fall in 2017

The median sale price of a home sold in 2017 in St. Joseph fell by $500 while total sales decreased by 2.7%, according to BlockShopper.com.

From January through December of 2017, there were 110 homes sold, with a median sale price of $154,500 - a 0.3% decrease over the $155,000 median sale price for the previous year. There were 113 homes sold in St. Joseph in 2016.

The median sales tax in St. Joseph for 2017 was $3,349. In 2016, the median sales tax was $3,269. This marks an increase of 2.4%. The effective property tax rate, using the median property tax and median home sale price as the basis, is 2.2%.
