Cerro Gordo Community Unit School District 100 Board of Education met July 17.

The Regular Meeting of the CGCU #100 Board of Education was called to order by President Piraino at 6:30 p.m. in the high school band room. Administrators Robinson, Rodebaugh and Neaveill were also present.

Board members Hayes, Henricks, Miller, Piraino and Runyen answered roll call. Also present were Administrators Neaveill, Robinson and Rodebaugh. Member Greenwood arrived at 6:44 p.m.

Henricks moved to adjourn to executive session at 6:35p.m. for 5 ILCS 120/2 © (1) - The appointment, employment, compensation, discipline, performance, or dismissal of specific employees of the public and 5 ILCS 120/2 (4) Discussion of minutes of meetings lawfully closed under the Open Meetings Act, whether for purpose of approval by the body or semi annual review of the minutes. Piraino seconded the motion. Roll call: Hays, yea; Henricks, yea; Miller, yea; Piraino, yea; Runyen, yea. Motion carried all yeas.

Henricks moved to return from executive session at 7:03 p.m. Greenwood seconded the motion. Roll call: Henricks, yea; Miller, yea; Piraino, yea; Runyen, yea; Greenwood, yea; Hays, yea. Motion carried, all yeas.

Runyen moved to approve the minutes of executive session as having been read in executive session. Piraino seconded the motion. Roll call: Miller, yea; Piraino, yea; Runyen, yea; Greenwood, yea; Hays, yea; Henricks, yea. Motion carried, all yeas.

Henricks moved to employ Kelly Martina as elementary teacher for 2019-20 school year pending successful completion of required background check. Hayes seconded the motion. Roll call: Piraino, yea; Runyen, yea; Greenwood, yea; Hays, yea; Henricks, yea; Miller, yea. Motion carried, all yeas.

Piraino moved to employ Anna Marie Hanes as high school business teacher beginning second semester of 2019-20 pending successful completion of licensure and required background check. Miller seconded the motion. Roll call: Runyen, yea; Greenwood, yea; Hays, yea; Henricks, yea; Miller, yea; Piraino, yea. Motion carried, all yeas.

Runyen moved to adopt memorandum of understanding related to tuition reimbursement. Henricks seconded the motion. Roll call: Greenwood, yea; Hays, yea; Henricks, yea; Miller, yea; Piraino, yea; Runyen, yea. Motion carried, all yeas.

Miller moved to employ Courtney Kerley as cross-cat special ed teacher for the 2019-20 school year. Henricks seconded the motion. Roll call: Hays, yea; Henricks, yea; Miller, yea; Piraino, yea; Runyen, yea; Greenwood, yea. Motion carried, all yeas.

Pirano moved to keep past 6 months of executive session minutes closed and verbatim minutes 18 months or older be destroyed. Hayes seconded the motion. Roll call: Henricks, yea; Miller, yea; Piraino, yea; Runyen, yea; Greenwood, yea; Hayes, yea. Motion carried, all yeas.

Henricks moved to approve the consent agenda as presented. The consent agenda consisted of the following:

Approve minutes of the June 19, 2019 regular meeting 

Approve June financial reports 

Approve payment of July bills in the amount of $271,101.32

Henricks seconded the motion. Roll call: Miller, yea; Piraino, yea; Runyen, yea; Greenwood, yea; Hayes, yea; Henricks, yea. Motion carried, all yeas.

Superintendent Robinson's highlights for July from schedule includes facilitating a meeting with Sangamon Valley CEO program facilitator/ teacher Lisa Sheppard and Mason Walker, CGHS senior to be, who will be a member of the SV-CEO program's first class. Provided a guided tour for local newspaper reporter Christy Jankowski. In conjunction with WCIA's “Our Town-Cerro Gordo" event set for August 2, we will provide a guided town for the public, of the new and renovated spaces. Presented and discussed possible options to change access to the new HVAC system on new junior high gym and solution options for yellow exterior brick.

Piraino approved 1st reading of IASB recommended board policy changes - issue 101. Henricks seconded the motion. Roll call: Piraino, yea; Runyen, yea; Greenwood, yea; Hayes, yea; Henricks, yea; Miller, yea. Motion carried, all yeas.

Runyen moved to approve handbook changes to the 2019-20 pre-k-6 and 7-12 handbooks presented and edited by Principals Neaveill and Rodebaugh. Piraino seconded the motion. Roll call: Runyen, yea; Greenwood, yea; Hayes, yea; Henricks, yea; Miller, yea; Piraino, yea. Motion carried, all yeas.

Henricks approved proposed school fees for the 2019-20 school year with the only change being school lunch prices and a maximum of $150 individual and $200 family sports fees. Miller seconded the motion. Roll call; Greenwood, yea; Hayes, yea; Henricks, yea; Miller, yea; Piraino, yea; Runyen, yea. Motion carried, all yeas.

Henricks moved to decline offer for JH and HS cross country coop agreement with Bement for 2019-20. Hayes, yea; Henricks, yea; Miller, yea; Piraino, yea; Runyen, yea; Greenwood, yea. Motion carried, all yeas.

As there was no further action to come before the board, Piraino declared the meeting adjourned at 9:25 p.m.
