Champaign home prices rise in December 2017

The median sale price of a home sold in December 2017 in Champaign rose by $6,100 while total sales decreased by 38.4%, according to BlockShopper.com.

In December 2017, there were 93 homes sold, with a median sale price of $140,000 - a 4.6% increase over the $133,900 median sale price for the same period of the previous year. There were 151 homes sold in Champaign in December 2016.

The median sales tax in Champaign for 2017 was $3,362. In 2016, the median sales tax was $3,040. This marks an increase of 10.6%. The effective property tax rate, using the median property tax and median home sale price as the basis, is 2.4%.
