City of Gibson City Council met July 15.

Here is the minutes as provided by the council:

Call to order at 7:00 pm by Mayor Dan Dickey.


Roll Call:

Ward #1   Susan Tongate, present; Greg Houtzel, present

Ward #2   Randy Wyant, present; Aaron Franks, absent

Ward #3                   Scott Davis, present; Aaron Kafer, present

Ward #4                   Dennis Pardick, absent; Denis Fisher, present

Jr Alderman Abby    Spiller, absent; Jr. Alderman Mady Schutte, absent

Others present: City Superintendent Randy Stauffer, Admin Assistant Peg Stalter, Police Chief Adam Rosendahl, Mark Webster (Public Works), resident Jan Hall.

Pledge of Allegiance: led by Alderman Greg Houtzel.

NEW BUSINESS:

A.)Consideration of proposed FY 2019-2020 Budget. Alderman Scott Davis led the discussion of the proposed budget, which he reported will remain essentially the same as last year, but with several proposed projects included. When discussing TIF 2 budget, he reported that about 39% of the town is included in the TIF. Resident Jan Hall suggested a committee be appointed to review the trees in town and make recommendations to the Council. Alderman Davis reviewed the water budget, stating that a committee meeting will be called to discuss a possible future increase in water rates which has not been done since 2013. Alderman Scott Davis motioned to approve the proposed budget as presented and discussed; second by Alderman Randy Wyant. MC 6-0.

Adjourn: Alderman Scott Davis motioned to adjourn; second by Alderman Aaron Kafer. Council was polled with all in favor.
