The data shows that the seven released offenders living in the Champaign zip code were men. The median age of the parolees was 38. The youngest parolee was a 21-year-old man convicted of a property crime in 2017, and the oldest was a 62-year-old man convicted of a property crime in 2014.
The offender who had been incarcerated the longest was James Dye. He was convicted of a crime involving one or more weapons in 2012, when he was 30 years old. He is now 37.
Under state law, paroled offenders are still in legal custody of the IDOC, meaning they can be taken back to a correctional center at any time if the state has probable cause or a warrant.
