2018 Recap: Parolees in Westville convicted of financial crimes or fraud

There were two offenders convicted of financial crimes or fraud released on parole in Westville during 2018, according to Illinois Department of Corrections data obtained by the Chambana Sun.

The data shows that a man and woman were released in Westville. The younger parolee was a 31-year-old woman sentenced in 2016. The other was a 50-year-old man sentenced in 2017.

The offender who was incarcerated the longest was Erica M. Bennett. She was convicted of a financial crime or fraud in 2016 when she was 28 years old. She is now 31.

Under state law, paroled offenders are still in legal custody of the IDOC, meaning they can be taken back to a correctional center at any time if the state has probable cause or a warrant.

The table below shows the 50 cities in Illinois with the most paroled offenders in 2018 who were convicted of financial crimes or fraud.
