The data shows that 37 men and two women were released in Champaign. The median age of the parolees was 34. The youngest parolee is a 20-year-old man sentenced for crimes against a person in 2017, and the oldest is a 66-year-old man sentenced for property crimes in 2014.
The offender who had been incarcerated the longest is Jason Mockabee. He was convicted of crimes involving one or more weapons in 2007 when he was 31 years old. He is now 43.
Under state law, paroled offenders are still in legal custody of the IDOC, meaning they can be taken back to a correctional center at any time if the state has probable cause or a warrant.
