Village of Catlin City Council met April 2.

Here is the minutes provided by the council:

The Council of the Village of Catlin inet in the Village Boardroom in regular session at 7:00 PM with Mayor Schmink presiding. Mayor Schmink called the meeting to order and instructed the Village Clerk to call the roll.

Mayor: Present Commissioners: Fred Reddy, Kevin Kirk, Jerry Cummings Absent: Wanda Schmit

Also present: Diane Reddy, David Dejaegaer, Larry Weatherford, John Thompson, Sharon Brady, Rinda Maddox, Chad Osterbur, Carl Barnes, Tad Beddow

A motion was made by Jerry, seconded by Fred to approve the minutes from the regular board meeting held on March 19, 2019,

Nay none

Upon reading of said bills, a motion was made by Kevin, seconded by Fred that the Treasurer pay said bills as presented.

There were no public comments.

David Dejaegaer informed the board that there would be a military stone dedication ceremony for Civil War veteran Private Martin Pedee on April 20, 2019 at 11 AM at the Oak Ridge Cemetery. David introduced Larry Weatherford who gave some history on Private Pedee and invited the approve a Proclamation making April 204 Private Martin Pedee Day in Catlin. A motion was made by Kevin, seconded by Jerry to approve the Proclamation.

Chief Tad Beddow addressed the board regarding the rental registration ordinance that was discussed back in 2016, Chief Beddow stated that the Village needs to adopt this ordinance to help aid law enforcement and the water and wastewater department. Mayor Schmink asked the board to take the packet home, review it and be ready to discus it next meeting.

Commissioner Cummings:

• A letter of compliance for Daniel Widick at 14667 N 1225 E Rd, addition to home for $20,000,00 was accepted by Jerry. 

• A motion was made by Jerry, seconded by Fred to approve the following building permits:

o Tom & Sherry Hainline, 203 N Sandusky, replace roof, $15,000.00, Freeman Contracting, 104.015424

Jerry stated that the completed budget numbers were done. Shelley stated that Commissioner Schmit asked for her to update the board regarding the park budget. The park budget currently has $6,000 left in purchase of equipment. The new early childhood

A motion was made by Kevin, seconded by Jerry to adjourn the meeting by vote.
