City of Monticello issued the following announcement on March 29.
On Wednesday, March 27th, 2019, the City of Monticello was informed by a Young’s Disposal Services representative that they regretfully would no longer be operating their residential refuse and recycling services within the corporate limits of the City of Monticello due to unforeseen circumstances, and will no longer be a licensed residential waste hauler in Monticello. The need to adjust their operations has become paramount and focusing their efforts in other communities and unincorporated areas which they currently serve is in the best interests of Young’s Disposal Services. In the immediate future, Area Disposal has agreed to provide waste and recycling service to all of the current customers of Young’s Disposal Services here in Monticello by honoring any remaining stickers and previously paid tote service. All questions regarding Young’s Disposal Services should be directed to Young’s Disposal Services.
