City of Gibson City Council met November 29. 

Here is the minutes as provided by the council:

Call to order at 7:00 pm by Mayor Dan Dickey.


Roll Call:

Ward #1    Susan Tongate, absent; Greg Houtzel, present

Ward #2    Randy Wyant, present; Nelda Jordan, present

Ward #3     Doug Parsons, present; Scott Davis, absent

Ward #4     Dennis Pardick, absent; Laura Miller, present

Jr Alderman Abby Spiller, absent; Jr. Alderman Mady Schutte, absent

Others present: City Attorney Marc Miller, Ross Brown (WGCY radio/ Ford County Record) and Jerry Wright (resident)

Pledge of Allegiance: led by Alderman Doug Parsons.

Mayor Dickey asked for any Public Comment….None expressed.

New Business: (Purpose of Special Meeting)

      A.) Discussion and consideration of amending the City of Gibson City Zoning Ordinance to Modify existing Wind Power Provisions and to consider adding Solar Power uses to existing Classifications. City Attorney Marc Miller explained the ordinance as presented which has been recommended by the Planning Commission to approve. The area specified is south of the sewer plant and Solar Power in town will need a permit to install. Alderman Randy Wyant motioned to approve Ordinance 2018-O-16 with the residential measurement changed from 250 ft. to 500 ft.; second by Alderman Nelda Jordan. MC 6/0 , including Mayor Dickey’s aye vote. Aldermen Scott Davis, Susie Tongate and Dennis Pardick were absent.

Adjourn: Alderman Laura Miller motioned to adjourn; seconded by Alderman Nelda Jordan. Council was poled with 5 ayes/ 0 against. MC
