City of Danville issued the following announcement on Jan. 12.
Join us and have some fun! This is an event that is about just that, having fun and making new friends. The Heron Restaurant will have free appetizers and the bar will be open. There will be a meal giveaway valid on Valentine's Day for a couple who decides they want a "second" date. While it is easiest to structure speed dating by gender, we do want to be LGBT friendly thus, there will be a post mingle for anyone to talk to anyone afterwards.
There will be certain things you cannot ask your new friend, however we will provide talking pointers.
