University of Illinois Extension Illinois 4-H Foundation issued the following announcement on Sept. 6.
Five 4-H members will represent Illinois at the National 4-H Livestock Judging Contest at the North American International Livestock Exhibition in Louisville, Ky. They are Mason Engnell of McDonough County, Jake Bohnsack of Rock Island County, Nicole Haverback of Henry County, Jenna Wheeler of Morgan County, and Clay Sundberg of LaSalle County.
The teens placed high in the state livestock judging contest, then returned to University of Illinois for an intense final series of competitions. Gracia Ramp, U of I animal science graduate student, will coach the team in preparation for national competition.
The Illinois 4-H Foundation supports the efforts of the national livestock judging team in competition, and individuals are encouraged to make gifts to expand their efforts in the livestock project work by donating online at 4hfoundation.illinois.edu.
