Cerro Gordo Community Unit School District 100 students suspended 25 times in a single school year

Cerro Gordo Community Unit School District 100 reported 25 suspensions for 2016-17, according to the latest student discipline report by the Illinois State Board of Education.

According to the report, the district expelled or suspended 25 students during the year. That equates to 4.9 percent of the 515 students enrolled.

Of the 17 in-school suspensions, all were given to boys.

The district reported that most in-school suspensions were given for unspecified reasons. The category includes 17 incidents. For 16 incidents, students were suspended for a day or less.

The district reported that most out-of-school suspensions were given for unspecified reasons. The category includes six incidents. There were one incidents of violence that caused physical injury. For six incidents, students were suspended for 3-5 days.
